i checked high res screencaps from the blu-ray.com review earlier and some look like plain s*** with tons of macro blocking.
ppl in the criterionforum thread are saying the same thing. apparently it's a problem with their encoder route60.

the french 4K UHD release is great but no subs I'm not quite sure how to do it, but certain blu ray players allow you to add caption files to the disc you're playing. You'd just need to be able to download that subtitle file

I know oppos allow you to do this but they’re so expensive, at that point I’d rather do my own .mkv or just torrent a remux
mostly buying it for supplements really, so maybe the film looking like shet is OK altho its stupid to support a product like that by buying

Yea. I've considered just waiting to get lucky on ebay for an oppo, but I have been looking at listings for a year.

Anyways, I have like $400 in my account after my rent and other bills. And a basket on B&N that's currently at like $350 lol
Does anyone know how long the sale lasts? If it can wait just 3 weeks, I will get paid again.
