    Criterion Channel lineup for January:
    https://www.criterion.com/current/posts/6740-the-criterion-channel-s-january-2020-lineup?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

    Paul Schrader and 70’s Sci-Fi

Hyped for collections of Seidelman, Campion, and Allah.

Not much of a Schrader fan but I'll probably check out the ones I haven't seen yet at least.

On the other hand, I'm kinda disappointed that the Bunuel collection is still the same old group of films that have been paraded around forever now. Was hoping to finally see The Young One tbh

I'm a fan of Paul just bc of films like Blue Collar (not in the lineup ) and Hardcore even he's a great writer in all ,but there are extra stuff from him I need to see

I've only seen a few of his films — but there's been quite a few film-related books/essays I've read over the past couple years that have discussed his work in varying degrees, most of which I didn't like the sound of. Because of that, Schrader is one of the rare instances for me where I just feel like I won't be into a lot of his stuff, despite not seeing it yet. (But I'm not totally writing him off; I'm still curious enough to still give the films I haven't seen a shot at least once.)

I actually really liked First Reformed, but unfortunately everything else I've seen of his didn't do much for me... Idc much about Gigolo, and while I actually think Dominion is at least entertaining, it's a wreck of a film. Of course I can't forget Adam Resurrected, which is by far one of the worst films I've seen in general. (It would better be described as an affront to god rather than a film.)

I also just remembered that I couldn't make it passed the first 30 mins of Dog Eat Dog when I tried watching that one lol.

But there are a few of his films I haven't seen that I'm actually interested in watching: Dark (his Dying of the Light re-edit), Hardcore, The Canyons, and Affliction.

“Hardcore” is incredible, other early Schrader films to see are “The Yakuza” and “Rolling Thunder”.

Most likely due to the artwork clue. The top left one is obvious cuz of falling E as in "Fell"ini
