tryna watch some "guys-on-a-mission" films and possibly make a list

The other ones I'd put in my top tier are:
• My Darling Clementine
• Dead Man
• The Treasure of Sierra Madre
• Red River
• The Gold Rush
• Heavens Gate
• She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
• Cheyenne Autumn
• The Shooting
• 3 Godfathers
• Forty Guns
• The Ballad of Cable Hogue
• Searchers 2.0
And im not really sure I agree, but here's two others that I've recently seen some people/sources classify as Westerns...in case you count em haha:
• Badlands (lots of Western iconography and the narrative can somewhat fit the mold, but I'm hesitant to say its for sure a Western for some reason)
• Honkytonky Man (this is classified as a Western on LB which surprised me, though I guess I can understand it...but hell, if Stars in My Crown can be a Western then I don't see why this wouldn't be lol)

I meant that guys in a squad are on a mission from you know rescuing a person, blowing up high value targets, and etc etc. Mostly it’s stem from a action and war genre.
Here’s the small list I can think of

Ahh gotcha. In that case, a revised list with those that didnt reply removed:
• The Mission (Johnnie To)
• Bitter Victory (Nic Ray)
• 3 Godfathers (Ford)
• Cecil B. Demented (Waters) - Not technically war but they definitely at war lol
• Ghosts of Mars (Carpenter)
• Strike (Eisenstein)

S***, might have to bump one of those out of my top 10 to make room for Sergeant Rutledge now

Winchester and The Furies both same rating, but Winchester edges out my top spot by a small gap.

Far Country
Man From Laramie

whats Searchers 2.0
Searchers 2.0 is an Alex Cox film (Repo Man) about two old guys, once child actors in the same Western movie, who decide to take a trip with plans to kill the producer that bullied them on the set of the film.
Its f***ing hilarious. Tons, and I mean TONS of Western references.
I swear dude the dialogue is literally like if Fam Thread film convos were made into a movie
There's also a classic Western three-way "showdown" scene but instead of drawing pistols, they have to take turns naming stuntment from Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy who are still alive lmaooo

"Ask him a question!"
"It's gotta be film related"
"They're ALL film related"

how have i not heard about this
Its kinda obscure apparently, which is a damn shame because its literally one of those films with endless quotables. More people need to see it.
Theres a part where the white guy is talking about how Al Pacino probably actually dismembered the guy with a chainsaw in Scarface to make the film look more real, and they just covered up the murder. "WE'RE TALKING BOUT AL!!!" The way he says it f***ing kills me

is this criterions fault for not restoring enough black films or the racist industry's fault for not letting enough get made
actual question
as far as africa i dont know if there are a ton of untapped auteurs (probably is) but theyre getting a little better letting Marty go nuts on his World Cinema Project
