Basically same thing as you it’s like a marketplace of shares where the stocks are the artists and if a song blows up you get paid for funding the artist
the big difference is that on our platform and with our model the artist gives nothing up, so the artist gets to keep 100% of streaming royalties. Performance and $$ are not directly correlated but do affect each other by the supply and demand for interactions with that artist in the market

Each artist on our platform is given a fixed number of what we call Slices. Each slice is worth a certain amount of USD. Fans purchase slices from the artist initially, which provides the artist with some early stage funding for their career and in return they own that slice.
Slices are like a key to exclusive interactions and experiences with that artist, only slice holders are able to attend. A user/fan can also sell/buy slices in a bid ask marketplace.

One thing that is gonna get in your way that you probably dont know about is the legal and financial framework behind this. How do you plan on selling slices to non accredited us investors? Also look into de la soul patreon comments section about why this idea is so hard to execute. We are doing it a little bit differently in the terms we are giving back revenue to fans who buy slices. Yet your idea is basically a utility token that has monetary value so gonna be monitored by sec

while we do have a bid ask marketplace we are mainly focused on helping artists get funding and both building/strengthening their connection with their fanbase.

We are called musicplace! Glad you are aware of the framework. I am assuming your offering utility tokens and using a blockchain powered market. I am just letting you know now though that SEC has been really cracking down on utility tokens because while they don't directly represent a financial investment, they are still considered an indirect investment. Look into the Howey test if you haven't already. Happy to hop on a call. Will shoot you an email

we have been in an accelerator for the past couple months who have been a huge help with the legal framework as well as development, if you are building off ethereum we found that gas prices are unstable as well as if the value of ethereum fluctuates so would the value of each token on the platform,
these were two reasons we found while originally building it out on why blockchain would not work, unless you are using something else or building your own coin in entirety.
