I’ve been following this since last year and its crazy how some of the things being bet on there actually happens. I actually told my girl “I should bet on that Machado nobel thing” as a joke and it actually happened, we both were shocked

This all makes me feel world is so nuts right now we are actually looking at the agenda and they even let us bet. One of the wickest examples of capitalism.

I have a theory, i know money is king but I think now politicians bet first and then they decide to complete certain actions based on the profits of the bet. Meaning that politics its a confirmed illusion and its all about $$$ , in a mainstream way.

Thoughts? And I”m not even taking into account the psychological effects of this.

Laws not being able to keep up with evolving platforms which is assuming our politicians are being earnest which they aren’t they’re taking the kickbacks and bribes to keep the market flooding. The system is broken. Our leader has accelerated corruption to a level that it’s almost a joke like remember when the wall was the biggest issue? Long winded way of saying everything is f***ed basically but I agree it’s dangerous, disgusting and Luigi did nothing wrong because of systems like this

People have always been able to bet on anything

Now apps like that can be useful even to non-gamblers for checking the temperature of public opinion

    More accurate than traditional polling

I don’t think polymarket would change the way how politicians move there’s bigger money than polymarket bets behind laws and whatever deals they make

Man I hear people making bank from this s***.

Those same folk are always losing all their earnings so maybe if you're not a dumbass you can actually make money from it

Or what if that's part of the trap?

Most markets barely have enough volume to win more than a few 10k’s on them. Also funny to me ppl think politicians profiting of insider knowledge is new lol, Idk if op ever checked the kind of stock returns senators and congressmen have been getting the last couple decades but they’re outperforming most hedge funds.

  • But I do agree it’s interesting that gov’s etc are gonna base policies etc on odds that these betting markets give on certain things happening, since they’re probably the most accurate polling we’ve got for the near future. Could create some interesting feedback loops

I mean, this does not replace the profits they already get with their ventures, this is an extra income

I’’m aware politicians have been making money with insider knowledge, covid era is a great example. But this is new in the sense that we can now see their “agenda” , they now allow people to put more money directly with digital coins and this basically just an extra income for them. Its a win win situation for the ones in power.

I hear the same. I’m curious in participating in this non sense tho, feels like its a scam but it also makes me feel like I will understand more (in a morbid way) the way this world scheme works, and if i can make some bank in the process. Well…

Not sure about betting on attacks on countries tho

  • Gonna get real grim when people start placing bets on protests or riots.

  • Gambling sites have been everywhere lately , it’s sickening

  • The game is cooked.

  • For many reasons i refuse to contribute. Seems dumb

  • this polymarket/kalshi s*** is the closest ive felt like to the world genuinely being cooked

  • its only just beginning but the inevitable fall out and disaster might be impossible to recover from
