Overall I think ti's timing, and cost that skews record buying as a hobby towards older ppl

I think physiologically, studies showed that music's meaningfulness peaks in people around 20 to 21, but most ppl don’t got money to spend so much on records at that age. People that do got money to spend are generally older, but it's not as much of a draw because by then, music's not really that big of a deal in your life.

I was actually surprised to find out how many people actually used to be into record collecting. It seems a common cycle is buy a lot of records in your twenties and thirties, then sell it all as you get married and have children. But then some.ppl get back into it around their 50s+ as their kids go to college.
