What would be the point? They won't be able to restore that magic, some things are better left in the past.

Dre was able to bring back the best of Em in 09.

Same as cudi with the third moon album.

people seem genuinely hype about it though

50 ultimately saw music as a hustle and moved on to other projects. Some rappers aren't in it for the music. 50 is the most talented of that cohort

Lol more like he saw that his time was up, and got smart and moved onto other ventures whereas most rappers try to somehow get a comeback.

I don't believe for a second he wouldn't still be fully engaged in music if the public was still interested

    This is true

Ran absolutely everything for 3 years and then musically did NOTHING that had quality or quantity since.

Nigga is the epitome of the "went from top ten to not mentioned at all" bar on Takeover.(Not mentioned for the right reasons anyway.)

Dude was Googled on the same level as pop stars from 2004 to 2009.

(Btw, Britney Spears was the most Googled artist in that time period if you're curious.)

But it's crazy how this dude was musically dead for so long and became much more known for TV and social media trolling to Generation Z when he was THIS huge at one point.

If 50 had the right direction, he could've been bigger than Drake today.

Cool thoughts OP, ty for sharing

    I agree!!

A lot of people consider 2009 to be Jay-Z's commercial peak, but check this out.

50 was still more Googled than Jay at his peak with a mid album.

And 50 was still mainly Googled for his music(the song with Neyo and the mixtape.) Nigga had the same buzz as Blueprint 3 way past his prime.

Google searches didn’t translate into sales tho. They both dropped an album in 2009

    Never posting agai

50 cent didn't care about music like that. He wanted to be rich and do rich people s***. He wouldn't be able to be successful as an old rapper, jay-z and nas really the only dudes over 40 that aren't super corny

Kanye, 2 Chainz, Ross, Pusha T all over 40 now

I see what you’re saying op but a lot less people were using the internet in 2004-2009 so google searches isn’t the best metric for seeing how popular something is as it is today.

And iirc Google search wasn’t as integrated with news and social media as it is today. So if you were googling an artist you were doing so probably to discover who they were. So it makes sense that more people were trying to find out more about 50 cent around that time. That was around the time of the time of the massacre, his first movie, the vitamin water deal, his sales bet with Kanye, etc.

That’s still interesting to see op. Even with all that said it’s still wild that people googled 50 more than Britany and Beyoncé. Especially considering that image search was a thing back then.

Plus all the beefs he was in would lead to google searches
