i respect your optimism but the only thing has changed is people are now closeted homophobes. Every area is different obviously, maybe the community u grew up in is better. But overall that ignorance still exists. And of course gay, trans, nerds, all that exists in the hood but they stay in their own circles usually. obviously this isnt even just a hood thing. this almost everywhere in america. At least in the areas around me (LA, Santa Ana, Long Beach, and Pomona) progressives are the new wave. Pride events go off in these places.
