Their image has always been unmatched and always will be. Not many artists can say they pioneered and changed acid house, garage, techno, alt rock, disco all in only 4 albums.
Fr these guys could turn on a dime from some of the most optimistic and enjoyable music oat to disturbing and near terrifying minimalists full of political and technological frustration
Don't watch the music video for Prime Time of Your Life in the middle of the night.
I see it all clearly.
First Daft Punk
Then Gorillaz
Then Radiohead
Then Pharrell and Chad announce no more music together officially
Then Kanye.
I don't think that Gorillaz is going away atleast for the next 3-4 years. I feel like Albarn finally views Gorillaz as his main project otherwise he won't dump so many albums in last 4 years.
Considering that Kanye is already making music under his own name, chances that he is going to just say "Guys I'm not doing it anymore" are pretty slim.

Gorillaz isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. They have Song Machine Season 2 coming plus an animated film project coming to Netflix
Damn, i wonder why they're calling it quits as of right now.
Either something unexpected happened between them or something provoked them (maybe Super Bowl) to formally make the final announcement.

I wonder if covid got anything to do with it too.
Been seeing a lot of people in any art lane big & small (im personally a local producer & big into my local art scene seeing the affects) be stressed out during this time since they cant move & connect like they used plus it being a general downer that amplifies other issues.
S*** sucks. Hope it's nothing serious, but at least they're packing it up while their legacy & discog are still intact & still high quality.
When Stardust's "20th anniversary reunion" turned into a late reissue of the same song on streaming services was when it started to sink in that we weren't getting anything else from Daft Punk imo.
Yall gonna show me a a Kraft Punk album full of bass or you just gonna keep circle jerking each other with pics??? I really wanna know if they used bass, cuz apparently I'm a dumb ass or something
certified dumb ass.
Shed a thug tear listening to Digital Love. Man I love music
Their discography is so versatile
Tell someone to listen to Digital Love and Lose Yourself to Dance
How are they supposed to even guess those are produced by the same artists
Linkin Park and Daft Punk's first 3 albums was literally the only music I had and all I listened to for months back in 2009. These guys were my introduction to music, this sucks Still remember simping to Something About Us, playing air guitar to that solo on Digital Love and listening to Veridis Quo with earphones in my Nokia 2700 on long car rides
but fr why would they say epilogue if it's not to announce one last project?
