  • i wanna make a thread about this album because not only is it one of my personal favorite albums oat, but i feel like recently this album doesn’t get it’s just due (a 6.8 re-review, really pitchfork? )

the thing that makes this album so special is the amazing attention to detail on this, the album sounds, and was expensive with daft punks insistence on using live instrumentation and using unique production experiments really paying off. it’s not a stretch to say that this is one of the best mixed and produced albums ever.

it has everything that you could want from an album, and not to be a pretentious ass nigga but this is really an album album. the hits (get lucky and instant crush) still hold up to this day, the aesthetics still hold up, and even tho yeezus is also one of my favorite albums oat, i feel like this album was THE album of 2013, and looking back, is the perfect swan song for daft punk

First CD I ever bought, the longer tracks are fantastic, Touch gets me every time, but I wish it was all a little dirtier, Contact is great for the grit that it brings to the end of the album. The immaculate production is a genuine achievement but I feel like it lacks a bit of personality as a result, at the end of the day, though I do enjoy RAM I wish we got one more album out of them that used all the techniques they mastered over the course of their career

Beyond is SUPER underrated tho, think about that track all the time

Yeah I’ll never understand the “actually it’s not that good” reevaluations of it in recent years. It’s just a really fun collection of songs that celebrates the history of music and is honestly the perfect final album for Daft Punk.

people liked it when it first came out, but recently it’s gotten hate mostly because it didn’t change anything in music like discovery did. (which is quite silly to expect a homage album to change music)
