Wait wait....so you think 16 year olds shouldn't be allowed to vote but you think impressionable 18 year old girls should be allowed to freely purchase alcohol...

18 year olds can purchase alcohol in most countries lmao, America is weird.

16 (and even younger) is legal age of consent in most countries

Not that I agree with that but playing devil's advocate for how dumb what he said was

so what yall are saying is if the law technically for whatever reason said it was legal to f*** 13 year olds yall would be ok with a 25 yr old f***ing a 13 yr old ????????

cognitive development is still ongoing at the ages of 16 and 17. "By age 16, most teens are developing the ability to think abstractly, deal with several concepts at the same time, and imagine the future consequences of their actions. This type of thinking in a logical sequence continues to develop into adulthood." - mottchildren.org/health-library/te7285

a 16 year old is not an adult because they have not developed judgement skills fully, no mature how mature they seem, and are still going at an incredibly impressionable time of their life.

    voting no and driving no

age of consent i wouldn't mind being higher
enrolling in the military should definitely be higher

im just saying a lotta ppl in this thread r saying s*** is ok simply because the law says it's ok, rather than using any sorta further judgement or thinking

there's screening involved, and traffic laws are taken pretty seriously by law enforcement. there could be stricter laws regarding teens driving for sure esp at night
but generally theres always cops patrolling somewhere to make sure people are not whilin

by that logic then driving should be outlawed period because theres no way to fully prevent someone from drinking and driving beyond the threat of being pulled over

driving is literally following instructions.... if you can follow instructions then you're a safe driver. if you can't follow directions you'll get pulled over

driving is about simply following instructions.
it really is not that hard to drive.

it is not brain surgery, you are far overstating how difficult it is

    ?????? i can drive LMAOOOO

i have fallen on no law argument??? can't even tell if you're reading or not

safe driving is extremely actively enforced by law enforcement -- there are very clear consequences to poor driving skills that are immediately understandable, but i definitely believe there can be harsher laws regarding driving for teens--longer permit time, tougher screening, etc. to really nail it in.

barely anyone is patrolling tinder, bumble, the real world, etc. to make sure there are no predators. and certainly nothing to prevent a 30 year old from grooming a 16 year old in some states.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????

am i supposed to post my license or sumn ??????? el em ef ey eo

    how f***ing bizarre

poor decision making in adolescents stems from poor risk a***ysis--overestimation of themselves and underestimation of risk. the poor decision making im talking about especially pertains to long-term judgement--adolescents specifically have a hard time recognizing long term consequences, rather than simple a. dodge this car vs b. keep driving type decisions. however, one could argue that teens tend to partake in riskier driving patterns as a result of poorer risk a***ysis, which i recognize and argue there should be tougher screening for teen drivers because i don't believe what we have now is enough. with proper training regarding driving and instillation of the risks of driving, the number of poor decisions regarding driving would go down. i already said all this. not sure why you think im deflecting

in any case all of this is the biggest mf deflection from what we're talking about, bc the only reason we're on this is bc you deflected from what we're actually trying to discuss, which is whether or not a 25 year old f***ing with a 16 year old is pedophilia/hebephilia or not (or at least simply morally wrong). like breh stop wasting my time smdh
