Other peers in the genre are in awe of Benito. If you haven’t been a reggaeton fan it’s hard to understand just how epic it is what he’s doing.

No American or English rapper is even close to the quality, influence and impact of 🐰. Not since Kanye last decade. Kendrick only one close in terms of taking risk or innovation but nowhere near as big or as many hits. Bunny sets the trends in Latin music and the entire genre follows. He’s dominating Latin music WAY more than drake or weekend dominates US music

You kidding? Drake is the obvious answer. Kanye and Kendrick comes second to that.

Even xxxtentacion left a big impact, he literally created the latino emo music lane based of the "tentacion" word alone.

Bunny dont set trends tho. The sound he is using is not new at all. My first "latin trap" song was an ozuna song years ago before i even knew BB lmao. He is Boricua and boricuas have a lot of crazy artists. El conejo is doing the things right, he is huge and making numbers, but in terms of music he aint doing nothing new or risky.

I mean, we could say the same thing about Drake. Is he changing the paradigm of music? in the eyes of some he is not, some call him vulture. But is clear that he is influencing a lot of people.

Is the same with BB. He is influencing a lot of teens and ofc plenty new artists will give him credit. But this aint nothing new fam, is like saying because of Drake all the new kids started rapping when its simply not true.

Also BB aint doing it better. If we talking numbers he sure have them and yes he could be considerated the forefront of the "urban latino music" . In terms of sound he still kinda bland

I mean sure you could say the same thing about drake I don't care. He's arguably one the best rappers alive. You might think he's bland but the people giving him all those numbers think otherwise right. Give credit where credit is due my boy idk why you out here trying so hard to hate.

What you mean?. I'm not denying his success. I'm literally saying BB is doing things right.

But you tryna act like he making a revolution in latino music sound which is not true at all.

If we talking numbers, there is nothing to discuss. He is in the top.

If we taliking sound, well, we can talk all day about how there is plenty artists doing it.

  • Nov 29, 2020

In fact, yesterday Leon Larregui was trending in twitter (MĂ©xico). Plenty people were saying BB song "TRELLAS" sounded a lot like Leon (he makes indie rock) .

Other people were saying he sound like Ed Maverick (mexican acoustic singer).

Even in the BB thread plenty were saying he had a lot of "Argentine rock" influence.

He's at the forefront at whatever you would call the latino thing happening and that's nothing short of impressive. There blurring the lines of genres it sounds very similar to modern music we already listen too yet the sounds of there culture are what gives it a new fresh sound. What spanish artist is f***ing with bad bunny?? They wish they were in the spot he's at. He came thru with a dope fresh sound and f***ed the game up.

Na. Reggaeton was dying. Trap had taken over in PR. Only the South American artist were still doing mostly reggaeton projects until YHLQMDLG. Now reggaeton is back as the main force in Latin music. Jowell y Randy admitted they were gonna make a commercial album until the success of “Safaera” happened and they decided to drop a 100% reggaeton album.

Now watch artist in the genre do experimental stuff after this. Look at how the artist in the genre dress now lol that’s bad bunny. As he said last album “who you think taught y’all how to dress?”

Plus the đŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆ support he’s shown is unlike any urban artist in history. He dresses like a woman in his videos, paints his nails etc. That may seem normal for Americans but in Latin America, where machismo is king, that’s f***ing huge.

Plus his last 3 albums have replaced his own albums ar #1, even months after they’re out they’re still #1 on Latin billboards lol. The guy people say is his main competition or closest rival, j Balvin, his album isn’t even in the top 10 and it came out a month after bunny’s last 3 albums its domination thats unheard of. No one isn’t English speaking music is close. And his music isn’t incredible but that’s subjective lol

    Bruh why you lying?

Ozuna, Aanuel, Sech, Daddy Yankee, Wizin y Yandel, Chino y nacho, Maluma, J Balvin, Everybody was on the reggeaton wave wayyyy before BB, cmn. The amount of reggeaton artists that exist only in MĂ©xico is huge.

I'm not gonna talk fashion, not my field, but its 2020, world is globalized, people aint looking BB for fashion, thats for sure lol.

That "lgbtq support" you mention is small af, you think there is not gay latin artists or somthn? LMAO. Just to put an example., Sailorfag has being crossdresing for ages and she aint a small artist. In fact, a couple months back BB was ttrending on twitter MĂ©xico because a lot of people got upset he took advantage of the lgbtq movement. Gay people look to Gloria Trevi as an idol too, not to mention Lady Gaga and Britney are symbols here, but thats another subject cus they are not latin ofc.

If we talking numbers yeah, Bad Bunny is king, but dont come at me like he is this complete artist with a unique sound because that aint true. Its like saying Drake invented UK/ NY drill LMAO.

Fam nobody is saying that. In the last pages i even said im proud everybody wanna sing in spanish now thanks to this wave. I have nothing against the BB success. Good for him.

But these dudes are acting like he is this global icon pushing brand new sounds which is not true. Why the lies?

Name me a single reggaeton artist that supported đŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆ or even mentioned it lol. Reggaeton is the most macho genre in the world. If you don’t get the impact that has that’s on you. He unlocked an entire new fan base that never existed in reggaeton. Daddy Yankee never had gay fans lol

As far as Mexico etc. I’m gonna try to be as polite as I can cause I know there are a lot of fans of these guys around here but...here in PR we don’t give af about anyone outside of the island making reggaeton. If it’s not from PR, it ain’t the real thing. It’s called “reggaepop”

If you don’t like his music that’s ok, but he’s a generational artist right now. Drake, weekend, carti (lol) can’t touch what he’s done.

Lol yeah. As bunny said in his last interview “I can do trap or hip hip hop but reggaeton is in our blood. It’s from here. It has influences from Panama, Jamaica and New York but it blew up here. In 100 x 35 the capital of reggaeton Puerto Rico. No one does it like us. It’s ours.” Made me so proud to be where I’m from reggaeton from other countries, as he called it, is “reggaetoncito” lol
