for sure, no doubt. i just never had the thought, i was always thinking about just his next what you said makes the most sense ofc. like, he always had Good Kid Maad City in his head (in songs too even) waay before it was released. and how he spoke on wanting to do the sounds and styles on TPAB for his first album or something, but didn't have the courage. can totally see him going left field in terms of production, styles and themes
as good as his discog, and solidified as he is i firmly believe he hasn't hit a peak yet (not like, hitting a peak, then falling of, past ones prime type s***) but just going above and beyond all expectations, exceeding himself
Artistically I just off the top I can see Kendrick doing
: a west coast inspired g funk album
: a boom bap album with madlib
: a psycadelic inspired with Flying Lotus

i want whatever these outfits sound like
Kenny on some dark but souly psychadelic s***
And agree with your takes. could definately see a very west coast, g funk inspired album too. but perhaps with a more futuristic take on the classic production styles. like a merge between what Bon Iver and James Blake are doing, (especially vocal vise) a more Mike Dean type approach to the classic west coast synths etc

Yes. Sounwave doesn’t get enough credit for being so versatile as well.

SOUNWAVE WON A GRAMMY THIS YEAR real for that, dude been so consistent with it too, been there from the very beginning
i may be making a generalization here but i don't see him brough up too often in producer convos at all
Tbh i don't even myself know his beats like that but it speaks alot to his talents that Kendrick could literally have anybody produce for him and yet Sounwave is so heavily involved in everything he does
grow apart to grow closer
cut you off
HOC
Alien Girl :ye
always loved his prowess for alternatating between 2 different perspectives and narratives then concluding them with a twist at the last line
crazy he was on another level even back then, only continued to grow im excited af for whatever he has coming next.

nothing but facts fam wrote a page ago, conversing with Whippey (how do i @ other users without replying?)
about how, even as solidified as a artist he is and great as his discog is etc, that i firmly believe he has yet to hit a peak, and will despite his greatness and the expectations that comes with it etc, still exceed all his previous work super excited

i vaguely know what you're talking about but i don't recall the line or song it's being said in

kendrick lamar's interlude of Ab-Soul's These Days album
"24/7, 365, motherfucker I'm still right on time
Oh you thought you had me all figured out?
Take it from the horses mouth, you'll never understand me
I told you my Plan B is to win your hearts before we win a Grammy
These Days ain't s*** changed, different toilet, same s***
And I drank a whole gallon of laxatives by accident
Just to s*** on you has-beens
Had it been for my past tense, I wouldn't be rapping"

You don’t like duckworth? Are you a fan of kendrick?
it's in a previous thread where i wrote a 4000+ something words appreciation post
it's one of my definate favs of the album. With how Kendrick whilst telling a story slowly plays with the concept of possibility and how a single non-premidated action can entirely change the course of life, by sheer co-incidence. "Top Dawg could be servin life while i grew up without a father dying in a gunfi- BOOM" Concept is brazy enough itself but the music and THAT LAST BEATSWITCH
compliments the emotion and sentiment so well
Truly is a masterpiece of hip hop
