Spring/Summer 2017 was so scored by DAMN...

I remember being in Hobby Lobby with my mom and reading KTT on my phone as people argued what was actually coming on april 7

I remember the Humble video dropping and blowing minds

I remember I had a girlfriend who went to school an hour and a half away so I would bump DAMN all the way up on the drive

I remember people would bump it constantly at get-togethers; once in someone's apartment I wanted to put on, I think, LOVE or GOD or something pop rap (I defended those songs to anyone who denigrated them, dammit) and some dude beat me to the aux and put on ELEMENT. It was really Kenny's biggest sensation album.

I remember going to rehab, where we had one radio that picked up a nearby rap station, and I heard HUMBLE and especially LOYALTY constantly on that tinny little plastic thing

DAMN. is so synonymous with those five months of my life I will always think of it when I hear it

    2011-2013 Kendrick >>>>>

DAMN era was cool in the sense that he proved he could dabble in the mainstream lane like Drake but it didn't really feel as special as early Kendrick tbh.

Early Kendrick felt like a next level GOAT, especially with S80 and the loosies building up hype for GKMC and his Control Verse shaking up the rap game. His feature run back then was on point too.

DAMN era Kendrick was good but didn't feel as special to me.

it wasn't as good in that sense but the fact that he was proving he could make music that would be top quality and also played everywhere was a special thing and I enjoyed it

    2dopeboyz?

Nah, it was some blog that sprung up just to leak the 'fake' Mama's Boyfriend, the Kendrick track, and maybe a Lupe Fiasco song? I think their source was supposed to have been DJ Mano, Kanye's tour DJ.

EDIT: I think it was 'Dubra On The Rocks', see: newswire.com/dubra-on-the-rocks-launches/101406
