One of the most beautiful albums I've heard in recent memory.

Aaron Frazer (drummer and singer for Durand Jones) dropped his debut album "Introducing..." produced entirely by Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) last week. Here are some samples:

Incredible instrumentation, gorgeous vocals, and a crisp soul sound that just doesn't get old.

    What do y'all think?

Have you listened to Durand Jones & The Indications? He does higher-pitched vocals for them:

Glad to hear that, very unique sound for our modern times. Makes me happy to hear music like this is still being created.

It's refreshing considering the amount of trash released lately.

I know what you mean, recent music releases have felt a little stale and repetitive. However, music like this (not even modern soul, just interesting music in general) is being dropped all the time—just in the background.

That's the truth, the artists who actually care about music are still here. They just sadly got pushed to the background

It's sad but it's simply a reflection of consumer climate; that is, more repetitive music will be made if that's the most popular for the time.

The plus side, I think? People are clearly growing tired of the same music and are branching out. In a few years, the soundscape will hopefully improve drastically. Either way, I'm content.

I'm just happy to put you on to something when it's usually the other way around.

  • Apple effed up again. They labeled this under blues rock Yea, that's not going to go over well with blues rock fans. Soul fans will find this year's later because they filed it wrong.
