So the Verzuz was supposed to be against Maxwell on Valentine's day. I bet they were trying to do a "vs friends" show when Maxwell pulled out, but that didn't work out either, so they went ahead with the solo show instead.
If there's anyone deserving a solo Verzuz it's most definitely D, so I'm very happy that we got this in the end.

That explains why D’Angelo v Maxwell was on the screen at first when getting ready to watch last night.
We know Max is more active than D is on social media. So the fact that D still came through regardless of Maxwell dropping out really speaks volumes, and should be respected. Given how reclusive D is. We might not see or hear from him as much in the future unless he has more great news coming.
I have my theories of Max dropping out based on past observations and conversations. But I don’t want to jump to conclusions on anything.

Verzuz is a moment where they could have come together as brothers and celebrated each other. That’s what it’s about. I felt like Max could have put whatever feelings he may have had aside and did it for not only himself but the fans.

Absolutely. That's what I mentioned some pages back. Quest and D'Angelo do not follow each other on instagram and Quest hasn't said not one word about the Verzuz, which is odd. I'm hoping things are ok with them as well.

Yes indeed. I would have preferred D' playing and singing the songs, but maybe they weren't trying to go too much away from the typical Verzuz format with the backing tracks. The few moments when he played and sang were excellent per usual.
