Voodoo might be my favorite winter album ever

I don't know how many of ya'll read the 33 1/3 book on Voodoo, but it was released in March 2020 and in the end of the book the author (after extensive research and interviews with a lot of people from D'Angelo's camp) said that he had plans to drop a new album in 2020

i think A LOT of artists are coming back in 2023...
i feel like only now the pandemic is "officially" over
we starting to see some artists touring over the world and whatnot, but i think an artist like D'Angelo is waiting to create like the perfect storm for his comeback, and the end of the pandemic is the first step i guess

anywho, i'm not in his camp and can't say for sure, all of this is speculation

next year just wait on it

D wasn't going to drop an album until he could tour. That's where he is making most of his bread from. If an album is ready to go, then next year would make the most sense.

I hope ‘23 will be the year. If not, then maybe ‘24. We shall see.

d'angelo's work is so legendary tbh that i don't even mind waiting for it. dude is one of the only artists who could drop an album once a decade and it'd be enough to hold me over until the next one.

Same. Waiting isn’t really an issue for me either. I waited years for Black Messiah to drop.
