Amazing album, I remember being 14 when I first heard it and being really impressed but it’s only gotten better over time
the talent in this group
in the span of 1 year we got
alongside voodoo
stumbled across this mixtape that remixes a couple of tracks from the album and two tracks from brown sugar
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of D'Angelo's classic "Voodoo", Amerigo reimagines several of his favorite D'Angelo cuts using live instruments and samples. The result is a mixture of hip-hop, gospel, house, neo-soul and R&B.
i read somewhere, don't remember where, that a title track of 20 minutes was recorded
is it actually true ?

It likely exists somewhere. Many of Voodoo's tracks began as jam sessions that turned into full tracks, so there likely was a title track played and possibly recorded that never made the final cut because...a twenty minute long track on an album that's already 79mins is a bit much
Who knows though? For all we know that title track could've been played/recorded and when it came to making them album they sectioned that recording up and turned them into their own solo tracks.
Take something like Spanish Song for example. That track is incredible but it almost didn't even make the final cut. That song was just jam session they they repurposed into a complete song.
Y'all should try hitting Questlove up to find out more about the making of the album whenever he goes live on IG. He's normally pretty open when it comes to discussing the making of the album.
