its about dramatically decreasing the property value of the houses already there
if I bought my house knowing its in a well-off suburb yeah im gonna be pissed if you build affordable housing near it
There's literally no development planned at this time, it's just setting aside land (that would probably end up being turned into a boughie park like the tweet said)

He don’t give a f*** about the sidewalks.
He’s making a new restaurant (Firehouse Eatery) and a comedy club (Live from YS) in the area. This is why he’s opposed to the affordable housing. He don’t want poor people living there because he don’t think they’ll pay for his s*** and he wants wealthier customers in the area.
