I never realized that Lynch reached out to Kanye. The quotes that consistently swirl around are things like "Kanye came up to the house one day" with little other information attached, and "I didn't come up with any ideas that I thought he would like." The latter quote always implied to me that Kanye wanted Lynch to direct the video and Lynch couldn't find an appropriate idea, but apparently that's not correct.

So I was just wondering if there's a link to the whole story of how they specifically got in touch.
