Hal (Timothée Chalamet), wayward prince and reluctant heir to the English throne, has turned his back on royal life and is living among the people. But when his tyrannical father dies, Hal is crowned King Henry V and is forced to embrace the life he had previously tried to escape. Now the young king must navigate the palace politics, chaos and war his father left behind, and the emotional strings of his past life — including his relationship with his closest friend and mentor, the aging alcoholic knight, John Falstaff (Joel Edgerton). Directed by David Michôd and co-written by Michôd and Edgerton, THE KING co-stars Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson, and Lily-Rose Depp.

boring and bland
Timothee huge miscast
Damn bro, it really wasn't good?
Very bleak, better than y'all making it out be. Enjoyable enough with some great set pieces, just not very adventurous or exciting. The cast alone got me gassed af tho ngl
Damn bro, it really wasn't good?
I personally thought it was disappointing
not terrible just below average

It's alright it doesn't meet expectations of the cast and crew but it's a solid 7/10 that feels like a 6/10 cause it should be greater.
I don't love it or hate it

Think the casting is the best part of this especially the kings court.
Timothee,Robert and Joel carried this all three really keep this from being trash imo.

Tim just looked wrong in that role and his performance was awkward, the other characters were just kinda there
I thought Patz was very entertaining and I liked the music and cinematography but that's about it tbh

I thought that kinda fit the theme tho for the character. He wasn't meant to be King at all. I felt like the younger brother looked and spoke and acted more like a soon to be king and that was the idea.
Same with Robert which I think tied into Him not even being able to fight in the end cause he kept slipping
I was curious before if Timothee could play this role but after seeing it I get why he was picked.
Tim wasnt fit to be King and the ending twist proved that. Usually with films like this the idea is usually making the lead into a hero.
He was wrong the whole time and got played. He was just a young kid and I like the film used that.
Surprisingly really loved the tone this film takes with monarchs and Govt.
This movie suprised and disappointed me in some ways.
I'll prolly give it a rewatch

I see what you're saying and it sounds good on paper but the movie didn't really work for me unfortunately

I agree this needs about 15 or 20 minutes cut.
Its a fine idea and an Oscar worthy one if done right but it's a solid C in execution.
Still disappointed but suprised also
