Yeah b****, that's right!
"Dawn FM" will be the 1st song discussed in our new series where we will be discussing each individual song off of Abel's new, highly anticipated project, Dawn FM!
Still seems surreal we are able to discuss Abel's new album, but here we are!
Here is a template to use to help discuss a song, though it is not necessarily required. Feel free to discuss it however you would like.
GOOD QUESTIONS TO ANSWER:
• Rating out of 10
• Favourite line or quote
• Thoughts on production**
• Overall ranking in album
• Experiences or thoughts while listening to this song**
**PS. on this part, if you want, before answering consider googling "Weeknd Dawn FM Instrumental", cause this album has dedicated a lot of attention to the production part, and with the official song, the vocals obviously steal most of the listener's attention
Let me know what sort of other things I can include in these daily song discussions to make them better.

Make me believe in make-beliefs
Cause after the light, is it dark? Is it dark all alone?
incredible production and layering
can't rank this
8/10
You are now listening to 103.5 Dawn FM, you've been in the dark for way too long, it's time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.
Iconic introduction by Jim
Rank 15/16
Sets the tone nicely and I love the fact that it loops perfectly with the end of the album so it gives you that feeling of being trapped in purgatory until you are ready to advance.
did Abel pull a Poopity Scoop 2.0 with I Heard You're Married by purposely having Wayne drop a turd to spite Papi?
Middle Age Angel would've floated on that with A$AP Fenty subs
Great intro, as a poster above said it was an excellent track to set the tone for the rest of the album.

This s*** is hilarious and annoying at the same time I swear. More hilarious tho LMFAO
Good thread brother Hani. Some discussion about actual music in a forum about music is nice.
GOOD QUESTIONS TO ANSWER:
• Rating out of 10: can't rate, cause it's an intro, but it's quite well executed so the rating would be favorable
• Favourite line or quote: Abel does a really nice performance with his vocals, but ironically, the spoken part by the narrator I like a little more haha. Maybe it's Jim's soothing tone? Or the easiest/less nihilistic message he transmits to the listener, compared to the previous, troubled depressed piece of s***? haha
• Thoughts on production: Solid. I love it when musicians go crazy with instrumentals/production, and the sound of this intro sets the tone nicely.
• Overall ranking in album: I see it unjust to rank intros/interludes
• Experiences or thoughts while listening to this song:
In the beginning there are some earthly sounds, then at the end, in the background, static. Some fans, even Abel himself have been talking about the message of the album being purgatory, heaven, etc. I like the detail above as ascending, and losing signal.
Theories aside, on first listen I'm interested on the first track. The album opener usually gains lots of attention. Abel went the other, more difficult way, to add an intro. A delicate process, but in this case it was nicely executed. I like what I hear, onto the album opener!

Perfect intro, very atmospheric. I’ll never forget hearing the narration for the first time and being like oh s*** is that Jim carrey?! Sets up the expectations for the album v nicely
Edit: idk if individual song discussion is a usual thing when he drops an album but I love the idea. Bout to write an essay for don’t break my heart
• No Rating - Intro song with minimal singing etc.
• You are now listening to 103.5 Dwn FM!
• Love the synths, reminded me of Alone Again :)
• Can't rank it.
• The birds etc sound exactly like someone waking up for the first time.
Since there isn't much going on, would it be cool if we bump/discuss these? 😋
Maybe people were digesting the tracks back then, now we all know well each song. Last time we went up to track 12 "Every Angel is Terrifying"
Some listeners already shared their thoughts. Whoever wants to, might add more. Different times, different vibes, interpretations/feelings.
And whoever at the time, didn't participare, but wants to, can share their thoughts.
