Underwhelming tbh but still good it’s a fire album should do well in the long run. Once everybody starts switching up on it in due time. 😂
I mean... All the points you say could be argued as factors that led to these low first week sales... oversaturation...
The Highlights being number 7 on the charts with 36k sold means people are most likely still listening to BL/Save Your Tears (along with the rest of his singles catalogue). Hell, you go on his Spotify artist page, and you can see that two songs from Dawn FM are in the top 10 of his most listened songs. His previous success seems to have had a negative impact on this project tbh.
Going into a short rollout without no big single will for sure impact the first week sales too.
The album didn't resonate with the mainstream audience too unfortunately as we can see by the reception on social media.
Pop albums to not sell well first week too (Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, etc.)
not really. this album is his 2nd highest after AH
after hours (169k streaming units)
dawn fm(155k streaming units)
this album didn't have the cds and vinlys that After hours had first week so it's streaming only.
No physical copies. The streaming numbers are basically the same as AH, also the rollout is terrible and the album isn't that accessible to the masses

I really don't give a s*** about this but im kinda worried that these numbers will impact negatively in his music. I can see him doing an way safer album after this to chase hits depending on how the singles of Dawn chart.
Him experimenting on new sounds and crafting the old ones was an amazing experience. Don't want another Starboy type of project.

bro the numbers r almost the same as AH
if he wanted to do big numbers he would not have rushed the rollout and he would have waited until physicals were ready b4 dropping but he doesn't care like he said himself.

Yeah. I really hope that.
well he's dumb if he cares and didn't wait until everything was ready.
anyway tho first week numbers aren't a big deal in the grand scheme of things as long as the album has longevity and the singles perform well.
album could've done a lot better if he announced it first week of Jan and said it was coming end of January
but as someone who doesn't give af about sales I'm glad we got it first week of 2022 cause it was an amazing way to start the year, which is what I think he was going for.
he did it for niggas like me
