Update: Weeknd speaks about it
Vision board from 9/17/21
Tracklist from November of last year, album was still called "The Dawn"
"Gasoline" writing process:
tracklist was nearly final on November 14, nice
Sacrifice shifted over 2 spots
Starry Eyes & Someone Else swapped
assuming Heard You Were Married is 12, it got swapped with Don't Break My Heart, and EAT is absent
then the Ariana & Ty$ bonus track scrapped
Euphoria sample
dam Ariana and Ty would’ve been nice to hear on this. I would’ve also liked to hear what he did with kali

mmm so i guess ITSE and Starry Eyes aren't so much a two-part track after all
interesting that the intro was also once in the middle of the album. almost as if the concept wouldn't kick in until then. Here We Go Again the last track in November cause he knew that s*** don't fit in
Seems like we got this best scenario here honestly. Ariana on here would have been cool though.

I’m taking all those features over them rap n*****s
At the bottom of the first pic it says
"Keep 14-16 tracks (label)"
If what I read is correct, here's a reminder, concrete proof that the final say in his projects isn't up to him, but to the label.
After all, labels didn't let Michael go free, what made you think The Weeknd would be treated better? lmao
That's why I still say Abel needs to go independent to have 100% control and artistic freedom. Until then, he will never have it.
Here's what quite probably went down in Republic higher ups office with that Wendy Goldstein b**** and the other Scrooge McDuck execs in Republic in the meeting they held with Abel for the finished 2014 super-drugged-out Nirvana vibe album(s)
Ty$ and Weeknd is a great duo and I feel like Ty$ could stylistically shift to the tone of this album better than Wayne and Tyler did. Still love the album nonetheless, by virtue of the Ty$ being a bonus it prob wouldn’t have been particularly congruous with the rest of the album anyhow.

100%
Ty Dolla is an amazing artist and it’s really a shame that the only song they have is Or Nah
