The collapse of the liberal media is inevitable
Sucks that nothing good will replace it.
It's not acceptable at all. All derision does is further alienate them and reinforces those opinions. And the same applies going in the other political direction. Even blanketing a vague group as "extremists" is a closed-off approach to discussion, and you and I aren't even actually discussing anyone in particular.
Who cares if someone's political opinions enable bigotry and harm? The reality is that a lot of those people aren't concious of that idea because they don't think that way to begin with. And when you approach them with that accusation, of course they are going to be defensive and the conversation will go absolutely nowhere before it even starts. The sad part is that the vast majority of people that get called "extremists" (which is has become a meaningless word, see: "fascist") actually have a chunk of overlap with worker-first left movements regarding their wants and needs. But they have been condescended and dismissed so much by liberals and radlibs that they don't think commonality between the two exists.
And I'm talking about actual, face to face conversations. Not on the internet/social media where most conversations are between bots and paid actors working in military cyber divisions.
This sounds white
Thank god. End all of them and blacklist the hosts from ever working anywhere for the rest of their lives.
Conan is the only host and show with even a shred of entertainment value and integrity. But i would gladly sacrifice him if it meant all other late night talk shows ended asap.
Craig Ferguson >>>>
They should've never ended The Arsenio Hall Show
Arsenio ended it himself because black people were calling him and Uncle Tom and non-black people were calling him an angry black man
yeah i did cause that sentence is honestly the most c***ass s*** ive seen on here in a minute. even by your standards

Devil's advocate: calling people of either political side as uniform extremists who are ruining the country is not helping discourse
When did talkshow hosts stop having serious guests/being funny?
These are two different questions
poster child is a reach but the elitism / condescension stuff is fair. on the other hand, i disagree about there being no empathy when his show is most apt at giving thorough, pointed critique toward political entities and edifying the general public on lesser publicized issues compared to his other half baked liberal peers.
there also comes a point when coddling extremists who deny presented facts is no longer effective, particularly when they're peddling opinions that enable bigotry and harm. derision becomes acceptable in that context
Just so we're clear, you're right and any position against yours has little to stand on. Those who act like far-left extremism of economic equality and an end to discrimination being the same as far-right extremism which wants to eliminate entire races and identities are completely full of f***ing bullshit.
Who cares if someone's political opinions enable bigotry and harm?
excuse me?
"Extremism and facism are meaningless words. BTW, Trump using ICE as gestapo and bringing back Confederate monuments is something I have no opinion about!"
He's the poster child of the condescending tone that has completely taken over modern political and social discourse — aka "my sports team is better than yours" narratives. Never wrong. Never conceding. Always correct. Yay for me but nay for thee. Zero empathy.
It's brainrot circle jerk garbage that has done nothing but enable the already embarrassing state of discussion about pretty much anything. The concept of actually understanding others who disagree is extinct, and Oliver has been a champion of that.
I love this post

Terrible. Just awful.

I know u blocked me and all but if you gon make posts like this, you should try going outside your white bubble for just a quick minute.
I swear it’s only folks that have never had to deal with a microgression that turns into violence in their entire lives that have this same opinion.
White liberals like @RASIE always trying to reach across the table while the other side smacks their hand away and then wonder why they keep losing

The fact you that and think that person in liberal in any way in hilarious
If Matt and Trey end up having a big falling out I wonder if Paramount will end up shelving that Kendrick produced film.
Hell, they might do that regardless given the subject matter and how it’s handled.

the levels of Caucasity
burst out laughing when you clocked that
and then you hit him with the “even by your standards”
