I think theyre going to ask him to step aside and he will do it. But i dont think this would have happened 10 years ago even if he was the same age and quality. Trump only getting 1 term was unique and I think that being so fresh in people’s memory, makes them comfortable with only giving Biden 1 term too. Along with the issues with the debate and his age and everything. Just a vibe I get, pretty high level political a***ysis in this post as u can see. My vibes are slightly above chance in accuracy

yes but also, i feel like a component of this is those within the party who were quietly looking for any excuse to get Biden out now have their best case yet

some are overcompensating now with 6-7 weeks left until the convention

it’s not overcompensating to suggest someone in biden’s state shouldnt be head of state

The Democrat consensus (for politicians) was locked in on Biden until now, it’s only when the backlash from the general public and how bad Biden mental state is declining are we seeing the some inner party currents trying to rail against the majority/status quo for DNC which has been Biden

I’m not disagreeing there weren’t factions of the DNC that didn’t want Biden to run, but the minority that may have had voiced qualms pretty much agreed that just accepting Biden as the nominee for the sake of “party unity” over the course of the last 2 years and all that has happened since including Bidens continued mental decline, isn’t due to some factions “out to get Biden or anything”

His health is horrible and most politicians are careerists and are looking at the odds of beating Trump and they’re future as establishment politicians, not some personal vendetta with Biden

the mistake was in 2020 once that was won it was over

not running as the incumbent is a surefire way to lose throughout history

So funny people said trump making Biden out like a blubbering fool set the bar so low that all he had to do was be somewhat coherent and he would win. And that was a mistake to do. And even with that low low bar, he managed to not even meet that

Political parties are always reluctant to withdraw support from a sitting president

even one as incompetent as sleepy Joe

i'd usually agree but this isnt usual circumstance they want bro dead

Oh i know, i've been yelling about Biden's mental state for over half a decade now. its overcompensating because they have to go super hard right now to pull off an unprecedented election change or else lock Biden in for the convention in August. This has never been done this late with an incumbent

the "concensus" was a facade. Those who questioned Biden were "on board" until the second something like this happened, and now they have their excuse for why not to go for him.

I think those currents have always been ready to rail against Biden, you just didn't have the clear cut case to proceed like they do now. Genuine support doesn't buckle this fast

Doing this months before the election seem unlikely. If they really cared about winning they'd replaced him with Kamala 2 years ago. Cult explanation works better

i think the majority were fine going all in for Biden, but i really doubt there weren't some people up top ready to turn the second things went south publicly like they are now.

everything from now is completely unique and unprecedented. Dems stepped in to stop President Johnson early on in a contested primary, not in late June when delegate counts are secured

the cult is real tho regardless

It was kind of surprising the amount of times Biden stuttered and couldn’t put a thought together, and Trump let him slide. There was a comment here and there but I expected Donald to flame Joe every time he didn’t make sense and attack his cognition, and he didn’t really do that often. I guess he doesn’t really have to as it’s in plain sight for everyone to witness now.

When Biden was asked about abortion he started sperging out and was like “Women are unwilling to..women are unwilling to..to be raped by their fathers cousins or brothers” didn’t even tie it back to abortion just said women don’t want to be raped

And he got a softball question about third trimester abortions and couldn’t even get that right. I don’t think he knows what a trimester is. He was like “the first trimester is between the woman and the baby, the second trimester is between a woman and her doctor, and the third trimester is…I support Roe v Wade”
