I think the like system gives great posters a chance to shine while not becoming hive-minded like a downvote/upvote system.

There might be room for improvement, but I don't think removing it is the right way to go.

likes get rid of most spamming by quote posts, although sometimes they serve different purposes

But I also recognize the irony of a Kanye West fan forum having a like system considering his stance on the matter.

It really cuts back on spamming tbh. People still quote but it’s not happening as much with the like system.
