I thought it was honestly a really big detriment before Mugen Train. Like I'm not a huge "OH IT LOOKS SO GOOD WHO CARES ABOUT THE STORY" guy. AND i'm a Big 3 era kid so I lean towards tryna do too much with a plot vs too little
If you put this series in a truncated amount of time and really highlight the emotion and action, that's when it shines. Tldr; I think Ufotable helped me not care about plot in these two arcs

Hyped up Tanjiro having no strength, guy couldn't even pick up his sword or heavily struggling to even move his body multiple times, just for dude to all of a sudden gain strength and keep up with a Hashira and a demon in full recovery going full power with one another. At least you could buy a Hashira pulling some crazy feat off despite injuries cuz they a hashira, but they gassed up tanjiro's damage to high heaven.
And then Boar head nigga talking about rearranging his f***ing organs like what
On top of catching up to Zenitsu who's in an electric speed wave that seemingly is going at insane rates of speed that no one else should be able to catch up with especially in their injured and low stamina state, but he just pops up and finishes the fight. That was mad lame, should've just had Zenitsu get the kill there, but he wanted to include boar head to get in on the moment. šIn the manga it makes more sense since Zenitsu is still in the same place at the roof so there was no actual need for Inosuke to catch up, the anime wanted to make it more crazy and flashy so it made less sensw

Feb 8, 2022NayutaThis season as someone that's talked a lot of s*** about demon slayer, it's been a lot better, I was ready to say this season was kinda like that last euphoria episode in terms of a step up in story
But the ass pulls in that fight pissed me off I despise that s***, don't gas up injuries and then have dudes completely pull feats of strength and speed out their ass it's terrible writing
That aside though pretty enjoyable season
Yeah thankfully the series gets better with the asspulls later.
All they had to do was not say tanjiro was out of strength so many times lmao and just allude to it or say he needed more time for recovery breathing. Even having the mark on his head activate earlier might have been enough.
The organs s*** was the biggest asspull, the poison part could have at least been acceptable if they added to it a little.
Him catching up to godspeed actually was only bad in the anime too, in the Manga they were stuck in one spot so it made sense, that could have been an easy fix in the anime- Feb 8, 2022
