I consider the story telling pretty reginald for this series but the s*** really does look gorgeous and the battles are about as engaging as modern shonen gets

When activated it leaves a mark and in the case of Tanjiro even dye his hair red when he was cutting the head of Upper 6. The origin for his fathers scar is not explained but with this knowledge the best guess is he underwent a similar transformation.

Comparing hellblazer from 1988 to a shounen manga is really not a fair comparison. Out of all the big shounen titles demon slayer has by far the weakest.
