A First Look at Timothée Chalamet in Dune
Part one of our preview of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the epic sci-fi novel.
didn't expect it to look like this. almost done with the book already 500+ pgs in
im not talking about money, that s*** irrelevant. I have this feeling that Dune is gonna be a mixed bag, maybe even worse than that idk
Can’t be any worse than Arrival
only casting choice I'm on the fence about is Zendaya.
She's super talented, but this movie is a different ball game from Euphoria (overhyped) and Spider-Man
Hope she proves me wrong.
almost done with the book and her part seems pretty small imo
Looks horrible lmao. this gonna be even worse than 2049
um 2049 is a masterpiece and I have faith in Denis
from the responses in this thread I can tell y'all have some poor taste in movies and have a hard time watching a movie that takes it's time
Tbf most of it is because I don’t like the faces of Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams (especially Renner) ((usually don’t have a problem with Amy’s face))

u keep making it worse for urself
u keep making it worse for urself
I also don’t like Lucas Hedges’ face, but that’s pretty irrelevant since he’s not in that. Or maybe he is, idk, seems like he’s been in everything since 2016.
Mmmm
yeah looks very pedestrian and cold to me tbh, it's just one still though so I ain't gonna write the whole thing off based on that, but it's not a good start imo

ive never read anything about Dune but which vibes did u get from it

Show may have been overhyped but i don't think her performance was at all
Had doubts about her too but after reading the book her part is kind of a no brainer fit. i think she'll do well its not even a major role. His whole casting seems right on

tbh in terms of the aesthetic and the energy it always felt like a much more alien kind of aesthetic, more varied and colorful
the image here is nice, but it's a bit too "cool" for my taste, like it just feels like they chucked Timo on a beach with a coat and threw in some CGI ships in the back
gonna need to see the other planets for sure though, maybe Villeneuve has the film get progressively alien as it goes on

i feel like that photo isn't on the main planet. no way dune not orange sand

nah this photo is the planet Caladan Paul Altreides home planet.
Dune is going to be on some Mad Max type lvl. Sand storms and worms

Never read Dune but had a dream where I saw the trailer and Chalumet was riding a big ass sandworm through an orange ass desert with orange sky and s*** looked so dope

Yeah the revealed shot is giving me Arrival flashback which is everything I was hoping and wishing not to be, but again it could be just an isolated shot
