Alright so full disclosure, I’ve never read the book or seen the original film. Story wise I went in blind, only brought in by the talent and the concept.

Holy s*** I am all in on this world. The lord pulled me in the more I watched this film. There so much that can be done from this point and so many possibilities. It for sure felt like a part 1 no doubt, but I’m undoubtedly excited for part 2.
As expected, the directing, cinematography, acting, score, effects, etc. were top notch. Im just fascinated and I want more and that is the films biggest accomplishment.

....wouldn't that be the books accomplishment? Not doubting everything you said but that god level world building isn't Denis' really

I’d say adapting a world that is built within a source material for a script requires a lot of skill and thought

And then shooting that and executing that world building in a good way requires praise

Yes it’s from a book but capturing that world building into a movie is tough

Need a theater that’s open 24/7 so I can see it again.

This movie would’ve scared TF out of me as a kid

You need to wait till the theater. This is incredible. I thought maybe Backlava was overhyping it but no.

Like is said, this is my first experience with Dune.

If anything this made me want to read the book and get more into it

What Denis did is adapt it very well

Just got out of my first screening. This s*** was beautiful. Will say though I don’t know how much general audience will enjoy it though. Slow in the beginning and little action. Set pieces , set design and cinematography are the best I’ve ever seen

  • Hype building up, haters silent

Movies like this are what sets WB apart from any other studio

I'll have the total opposite experience and ngl I'm a little jealous. I'm the type to avoid all trailers and spoilers usually but that was never gonna matter for me here

This is Denis' 6th classic in a row

Giving WB credit for funding this weird ass movie . Loved it but curious how the GA will take it.
