One of the best movies ever made so obviously
I know my comment makes it sound like I hated it but I really wanna rewatch to see what I missed before deciding how I feel on it.
I wanna love it but yea that s*** has me snoring Lmaoo
Everyone has to have their own opinions fam i have nothing against that dont get me wrong pls
You’re really living in some kinda secluded bubble if you think Halloween Kills/Michael Myers off name recognition alone isn’t bigger than Dune as far as pop culture goes
You’re living in a secluded bubble of you think they would spend $165M to make the movie and another $100M+ to market it without expecting to make money on it
BROLIN SAYS THEYRE FILMING PART 2 IN THE SUMMER
lets goo

Nah ima rewatch today before I give an official opinion. I do know the cinematography was crazy like the shot when Josh Brolin was holding Timmy on the aircraft
Ight @Backlava you unblocked now. A nigga slept during the movie

What does that have to do with name recognition?
Pretty sure they’ve accounted for the revenue loss on some level due to the pandemic, hence all the delays.

Did you have him blocked

Their loss

Lmao odee bro had to mute that s***.
I just don’t like how he’ll come in here and pretty much s*** on the movie before seeing it and then after watching it start spamming how crazy it is and demanding niggas see it in imax
dont know whether Halloween's #s were just really impressive or this is flopping
I feel like Villeneuve’s movies always do around 30 mil opening weekend. This ain’t nothing new
Unfortunately this is due to HBO release.
Not really a problem considering its a smash worldwide and already made its money back, and when those china numbers come through its gonna bw cool
Seems inaccurate to blame the streaming release.
Just like Dune, BR2049 was reported in the media to be amongst the most anticipated films of the year — but it's opening weekend in the US was around the same amount as these Dune projections. BR2049 had no dual-premiere on streaming. There was even lots of online fervor among fans of that movie talking about how it deserved more attention and urging people to go see it.
Arrival also made even less than that its opening weekend
As someone who didn’t know much about Dune before seeing I must say this was fire! Hopefully the sequel is made. Do not watch this on a small screen! Epic moments and beautiful cinematography throughout

So Dune is gonna open the same as BR even though it had a dual release?

Nah for real I thought BR was missing some things and this is someone who saw it 3 times. Need Dune to at least be better

I love 2049 way more then Dune
but a lot of people seem to be digging Dune more then 2049 so maybe you will as well

If it meets those projected numbers in that headline, then it will make more than BR2049 did. (And almost 1.5x as much as Arrival.)
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the HBO Max premiere ends up helping Dune's domestic box office numbers in the long run

BR2049 is so good

Every hollywood picture is expected to make money though. That doesn't mean those expectations are automatically going to be met.
They already made most of their money back anyway because of the early international releases.
