    Hot take!

No lol watching this I was like many others this would have slapped as a tv show or episodic but he wants the big screen experience so I get it . WB got nothing but disappointing cape s*** coming they should invest in dune and make it their 5 part sci-fi Harry Potter rather than this “part 2 likely coming good luck at the box office even though we are the ones that forced it to max when pandemic numbers all time low and vaccinations near mandatory “

Making fans genuinely think the sequel is determined by box office when WB were the ones who last minute announced this dumbass day and date plan to build a subscriber base

Bruh I genuinely love superhero movies as much as the next guy but I kinda understand why fans of other genres can look down on them and their fans at times even tho I don’t agree with doing so.

    Their Dune takes been nuts

Why don’t you agree with doing so ? It’s not looking down oh hero fans it’s those that think universes and hero episodic content is the only and best way to absorb everything

I don’t agree with doing so cuz even with what you said I feel like it’s a cause of the film industry being afraid to take risks and relying on safer projects something that they know or feel can make them a return.

Like these fans are desensitized to that s*** lol especially those that are younger and don’t know what the movie landscape was like before stuff like the MCU.

I feel like the blame lies at those who fund the projects and rely on IPs. 70s audiences were willing to go out and see wild s*** in the theaters, there’s a reason why IMO.

Plus I feel like a lot of films have a place to exist or a right to do so. Like high brow s***, popcorn flicks and trashy b movies all have their place in the culture

Kind of sad they skipped the wife-betrayal arc and royal dinner but other than that it was solid. More atmospheric than I expected even tho modern cinema standards dont compliment sci-fi that well imo

Oh I don’t literally look down on them . Their opinions do carry a different weight on art though . I’ve said many times I want movies and tv to shift to anime manga video game adaptations or like ideas . So even if I didn’t love malignant it was original and over the top lol . Experiences that are so themselves they create memories that are distinct and break tropes . It’s what got a24 so hot

It’s why people hyped for the Batman . It’s why many hyped off dune . It’s not necessarily “ hero wins “ . They aren’t movies that can be spoiled in one sentence because they are so many moving pieces . Seeing the villain perspective and it’s more than just “ power “ “ revenge “
