Considering Oppenheimer benefited from the Barbenheimer hype in its first week ticket sales, this is extremely extremely impressive. Not to mention that Nolan is a much more known director than Denis is

I think both movies are solid but not life changing that’s just me though I’m kind of super hero out and heroes journey

Seeing as Oppenheimer was rated R, would it be fair to make this comparison

They're okay. I just don't see what makes the spider verse movies amazing or S-Tier but I did think the animation is amazing in both films. It's just the second one that I felt was bloated

I have been completely out on super hero movies for like a decade, but the spider verse stuff is amazing to me from a visual standpoint because of the animations. I will agree that the story isn’t anything super memorable to me though. Solid for a kids film.

    Good point, fair point.

I do really think the Barbieheimer/Summer boost can’t be overstated enough though.

Super happy both films have done well regardless.

I think the writing for the characters is really good. My favorite part is Miles family dynamic and everything with Gwen. Just love how they took their time on the first act.

I’m curious, are you saying Spiderverse is a kids film because it’s an animated film or because it’s a superhero film ?

I’ve always felt like the writers did a good job making the movies appealing to young adults as well, it touches on some mature topics. And I feel like people in their 20s talk about Spiderverse more than kids do lol
