Go watch the OG trilogy first
Ngl, I’m sad af that this weekend (and my first time seeing this masterpiece) is over
I’ve been looking forward to it for so long and it delivered. Feels like a great vacation ended

Not that this is the thread for this discussion
But while I appreciate the og Star Wars trilogy, I could never really get into it like a lot of people in their 40s+ could. The old school special effects just take me out of it way too much
I really loved the prequel trilogy growing up tho

Yeah but just watch the OG trilogy. Rest is not worth it.
Booked my ticket for rewatch tomorrow
Gonna try to watch it next week too
This s*** gonna be injected in my veins
well...how was it
It was great. Best cinema experience I had in a while. We dont need to talk about the visuals, the directing, sound design etc. Top notch as expected.
I agree with what Zelda wrote tho. The pacing, especially in the second half of the film, felt way too fast. It needed more time for the big developements of certain character arcs. The movie was over so fast, which is a good (especially considering the run time) and a bad sign at the same time. Dune could easily have been three movies (two for part two of the book), but one has to consider the economics and restrictions of the film industry, so that's always easy to say..
Overall I would rate it 8/10 after first viewing (I very rarely rate a movie higher than 8 on my personal taste scale). Excited to see this again on sunday.
This movie lacks stakes. No setbacks. Them boys got their home blasted to smithereens and it didn't feel like a big thing
They invaded them bald head guys and it was easy as s***... like..?

I agree. It's been a few years, but I think it's also like that in the book. It needed more conflict.

yeah I hear you about the pacing. the first time i watched it, it felt a little long but on my second watch that second half flew by. i liked it though and i didn’t feel its length

Star wars is the most expansive universe ever created, its a major rabbit hole. There are literally entire book series written about even the smallest characters so the lore is pretty much endless.
The original trilogy is unbelievable, but the rest of the movies can be a bit goofy. Still must watch movies
Going to see this for the third time IMAX, first time I was in the very back row, second time I was dead smack middle row and it was infinitely more engaging
THIS TIME IM GOING FIRST ROW MATINEE IMAX & my girl isn’t going with me so I’m thinking I might transcend realities bypass the singularity and ascend into a post-post singularity state of being
