Also these vinyl exclusive things don’t happen overnight, this has probably been in the works since sometime last year at the very latest

  • shaleirose

Every time I walk in Target it’s packed out, and I’ve been to ones in numerous cities this year

I remember the first 2-3 months of the boycott, the Targets in Downtown Brooklyn and Flatbush Junction were noticeably empty. Of course you'd still have people going because for a lot of people that was one of the few available grocery stores they had in their area.

On the MAGA side of the boycotts, because apparently they were boycotting too, the Targets in my local area it was the same situation for about a month or two. Then again where I live there's access to Walmarts, Costcos, Home Goods, etc so it was easy to not shop at Target

I’m just making the point that these people complaining about Jay Z working with them don’t actually care about the boycott, they just want another reason to be mad at that nigga specifically

Jay Z dissing people for working with white people saying they are controlled then working with target . When he could work with specific vinyl stores is a choice he has free will and is using it . People can rightfully criticize him for it

I'm not really sure why people are tryna deny the boycotts happening....

Target has come out themselves and said they lost a ton of money due to less shoppers, and their quarterly business reports showed they were down significantly.

  • Jay Z choose to posture so there no excuses for this fader . Just go get the target exclusive

There are no black-owned nationwide vinyl retailers.

If you wanna criticize him for working with a white-owned corporation that’s one thing, but criticizing him for working with Target specifically because of the boycott when he’s not even the only rapper to work with them in the past few months is ridiculous

Even if he didn’t people would still have a problem with it because they don’t like the nigga

These same people criticizing Jay for working with Target wouldn’t criticize Kendrick for working with them (another artist who currently has a Target-exclusive version of numerous albums in stores right now)

Plus J. Cole, so he’s not even the only rapper to do a Target Exclusive with them in the past few months

Niggas just always gotta be mad at something Jay Z does

It's because Jay Z is one of the bigger and more powerful people in the industry. He is seen as someone with high influence, and as a "leader". Especially within the black community. He's on more people's radar when it comes to wanting notable ppl to bring awareness to real life issues.

Basically the phrase "The bigger you are, the harder you fall" applies perfectly here

It got nothing to do with Jay, I just don’t like when people pretend to care about a topic just to get hate off on a specific person. If these people cared about the boycott they’d come at Cole and Kendrick for working with Target recently too
