Heard MBJ sucks
MBJ was so f***ing corny in this
There’s one or two scenes where he projects some fitting emotions but the whole movie he has this f***ing look on his face like “I’m gonna change history” it’s so punchable
BUT other than that the movie was great, it doesn’t like shove you with the plot it takes time to install some heavy scenes and leaves you thinking a lot, it wasn’t another average movie about Justice this actually got reactions from me and I felt involved

I think him in Black Panther is more fitting for “corny”
Idk I’m starting to think he’s not that cool of an actor. Yeah Fruitvale station and Creed he was great in but that’s about it.
Ima have to rewatch this to see if I can pick up on what you’re saying

Sadly I have to agree he seems to not pick up post Creed
I don’t know he just has this constant stare in this movie that’s so cheesy especially during his last speech oh my god like stop dude it’s not a commercial for charity lol
But yeah great stuff all around, the execution scene man, f***
Nothing against MBJ but Rob Morgan and Jamie Foxx were the clear-cut MVP's of this film. MBJ's performance was cool but I felt like every bit of dialogue from him didn't feel as natural as Morgan and Foxx.
That electruction scene was heartbreaking to watch. I was Taraji P. Henson-style crying during that scene, but at least I wasn't Viola Davis-style crying.
I could see why people were frustrated with the first 30 minutes of this but I was so spiritually invested into Walter's arrest and Bryan's transition from Delaware to Alabama.
I'm aware of the current climate of black trauma movies, but this is a must-see movie that's very informative around it's overall true story. Makes me wish that I could hug my ancestors for all the racism/bigotry that they endured for so long.
9/10

Wouldn't say that he sucks, but Rob Morgan and Jamie Foxx really outshined MBJ in every aspect of this film.
mbj was the best performance in this lol
pretending MBJ is a bad actor is what’s corny
People just hate his popularity and think other black actors deserve his spot.

I like him I just think it was phoned in here and was outshined

Yeah. I was just talking in general though.

Get what your saying, but I don’t think it’s warranted this time around since it didn’t seem out of character
His best performance since Creed imo, this is where he shines the most. More Grant’s & Stevenson’s, less Kilmonger’s

Mmmmh yeah, I don’t know sometimes it felt too on the nose, more heroic than a human performance
The monologue at the end was the cherry on the cake, Jamie felt much more genuine in comparison but I guess I’m alone on this

If this was Black Panther I’d be all the way there with you lol
But as far as Jamie, yeah he kind of stole the show but that says more about Jamie than it does MBJ. He’s just THAT dope of an actor

Hahahaha that true tho

Lol. MBJ still young though, I tend to be hard on him too but that’s only cause I sense the potential but now that you mention he kinda was “heroic” in this huh lmao I know exactly what you mean. I’m willing to buy it however since he’s portraying a lawyer
