carti popularized an already existent mini trend that's already dying. lone's sound is unique (as far as uniqueness goes in the modern rap game, that is) that's already beginning to spawn protégés. not to mention he's much more versatile, working with a wide array of sounds and artists (see his upcoming Panchiko collaboration).
