Yes I am an OG Frank stan Nostalgic Ultra and Chanel Orange are my favs Blonde trash though
no wonder you stan the WEEKND then lmaooooo
Misread and thought this was gonna be about legendary snap rap outfit D4L. Out.
Laffy Taffy > DHL
its an okay song. definitely not franks best and somewhat disappointing that this is what we get after waiting so long. if it stood on its own without having all of franks past work to compare it to or if he didnt wait years to drop it, it would be better but knowing that this isnt his full potential is disappointing.
Not a big fan tbh

agreed – I miss Channel Orange frank :(
not a fan of this flow he and rocky use, it’s coo tho overall
this prolly encapsulates the main thing i can say negatively bout the song. i appreciate the production and just how frank's voice sounds cus he really does have a versatile voice, surprisingly for the cavalier-raps he does
but this style doesn't feel like much new, and it reeeaallly doesn't feel like a good frank ocean spin on the idea other. like it's a frank ocean spin, i can tell that much, because he's rapping about DHL, old/new project files, and his odd way of flexing his money (paying studio rent instead of rate) -- this is all very idiosyncratic frank ocean, but it's not s*** i think anyone cares about, nor is it very relatable. are these qualities necessary in a song? no, but it's part of what made frank ocean rather cool. Novacane is a song that isn't specific to rich people though it sounds so luxury, same with s*** like swim good, thinkin bout you, and even the cuts off blonde like white ferrari and self control
some people have been pointing to his W magazine interview to justify this stuff, saying that this song is in line with not taking the deep dive into this life and conscious, and sure, this surely isn't a deep dive, but it's also not an interesting form of flagrant hedonism
nostalgia ultra was probably his best effort this far at demonstrating a hedonistic lifestyle that's simultaneously cheeky, not trying to be too soul-barring as Blonde or some of the later cuts of CO
i guess what i'm sayin is, just play this in a car of not-frank-stans-such-as-yourself, you'll see that this song isn't showing what's appealing bout frank, and it hardly acts as an extension of what could be appealing about frank, because it's not going to be soon that people will start caring about files, DHL, and studio rent
also the second half really drags when you're in a car w/ people lmao.
song's cool as s*** when you're by yourself tho. i still play it loud in my car when i'm the only one there
and as always, i don't believe this is the indication that he's fallen off or anythin i got a lotta trust in this dude, he's delivered 4 great projects in a row, so maybe all this will be different in the coming months
I love Frank & my gf is obsessed with him, but I can’t listen to this nigga describe his “boy toy” “ride him like a bike”

So it's true. You're among friends here dude, it's ok.
Can't wait for the album.
The dark room/clubby feeling he seems to be going for is great.
