Lmao, bro name even 100 people in Toronto as rich and notable as Drake. Name even 10.. without googling some list. People you would recognize on the street.

EDIT: I’ll concede Drake chooses to be antagonistic, but either way there’s a reason he said this about The Weeknd, “You don't even be at home, dog, you a souvenir-out-the-gift-shop nigga”

Also checkout Mustafa the Poet’s latest IG story.. this is pretty a standard take. You stay here and all of your wealth, possessions and success are on front street so everyone knows everything and you will get robbed and/or killed .. or you insulate yourself. Also, it makes more sense to work with criminals and become friends with those who insulate you for the loyalty.. even the security guard and security company that was guarding Drake’s gate was found to be a company registered to Drake, with Chubbs being the head of security for the company (Jungle Lion) .. on the surface I thought they were just rent-a-cops, but can’t hire the kind of trusted protection these guys need to exist with peace of mind

    I'll take it further.

Aubrey "I wasn't really gangsta til now" Graham is living out the fantasies HE HIMSELF wanted to be growing up and now has the money + "alleged" connects to finally do it.

If rumors about body modifications are true (and not just talking bout the abs) then you gotta wonder if drake is just trying to model himself after what he thinks is the ideal machismo man a la 'build a bear' tactics.

Think he's just lost himself within that fantasy and truly believes he's this empire lord that can do whatever he wants and thinks nobody can stop him.

    I don't disagree

However I also don't think he is the only person who would have done that if they were in his position

He has a particularly placeless quality to him because of his unique personal history (they do call Canada the first post-national state...)

But in a sense even though his life is obviously not relatable to any of us, i think many people sort of openly or subconsciously presume they would craft their ideal life similarly

I mean ppl do it on social media all the time. I suspect that if drake never made it rapping he would be some sort of timeline terrorist out there, creating his life through posts. And some of these posters would be Champagne Papi if they could rap

Everyone you just named except Pnd and arguably Weeknd were popping before Drake touched them lol

For the people who did kinda get introduced by Drake, Roy Woods, PND, Makonnen it was hard for people to care about them outside of Drake. Thats not necessarily his fault tho

It doesn’t necessarily hurt the semi established artists he does it to but the sentiment to do it in the first place is definitely self serving to reach audiences he wouldnt be able to. Hov did it too but Hov isnt biracial/doesnt have white boy thing going on so it doesnt seem egregious. Drake doesnt get into the clubs if Houston and Atlanta dont embrace him

Bro it’s made me ANGRY to see the TL let Ovo Mal rewrite history on the Migos.

    Just nasty.

    What was the ig story?

Something about the hate in the city and why he can’t stay here
