X0 tour life (maybe didn’t reach top 5 when it was out but obviously a massive hit with a billion streams) and can’t feel my face ... I can keep going
Idk to stay on topic niggas have never truly been fiends on top of rap. I mean s*** even future is a ex d*** dealer. D*** rap ain't dead its prolly getting started up
Let me know when it’s on the charts
A song don’t need to chart or chart well to be a hit. I thought Chicago rappers taught y’all this.
I feel what you’re saying but Lucid Dreams and Juice’s whole persona was like “it’s OK to do d**** to deal with s*** life gives you” and mad people identified with that. I feel like if he didn’t die, his next #1 would have heavy d*** references but now nobody is going to successfully fill that space
idk what you're qualifying as a hit but technically it just has to be top 40 so we're for sure gonna see more d***gy songs reach that level

Mainly songs that people who don’t even usually listen to rap know because theyre so pervasive

tbh i can't think of that many songs that would fit your criteria that i would call "drug rap" lol
I think a thread was made like this after Mac’s passing.
I know mad people who don’t know a single Mac song yet can sing along with Lucid Dreams in its entirety ; I’m talking what appeals to the mainstream population (white girl who goes to your school and only listens to Taylor swift but knows the most popular rap hits) Like mask off hits a lot different at a party now than it did before juices death ; nobody mainstream really singing along with “molly percocet” right now
There hasn't been enough time passed to decide that and no they will continue to make music about excessive d*** use.
D**** have always been the main driving force behind great music and the only difference between now and then is that it used to be more PC and hidden behind metaphors. So no, they ain’t going anywhere.
OP acting like this the first d*** related death of a musician.
Not to mention the fact that this is no longer as sad as it originally was since it wasn’t an accidental OD and he decided to kill himself by swallowing 20 perc 30s instead of taking a charge that he woulda been bailed out of in 24 hours.

I’m talking about blatantly and non-subtly glorifying taking percs and xans; not Lucy in the sky with diamonds type music
Like Pusha T raps about selling d****, that doesn’t count; the last few years explcitly rapping about prescription pills “solving your problems” has been pretty big
bro died 2/3 days ago how im supposed to know
It’s music - it will always have this Shakespearean quality, where the self-destructive, tragic impulses of artists is kind of romantic, beautiful and deeply sad at the same time.
Music about d*** abuse and toxic relationships is just sexier than music about living a healthy, normal life.
Celebrities have been dying from d**** for decades, imagine thinking Juice will change anything.
