OP
Don't even think OP is hating, im a huge fan of the Weeknd but this 80s retro sound kinda getting played out
Still excited for Dawn FM tho
he's been on this 80s wave on After Hours and now Dawn FM
what his next move after Dawn FM?

Tbh I just had that in the tuck and wanted to post it at any opportunity
@op actually speaking facts
Imma wait till the album drops with talking smack because it can be amazing (same way After Hours was the biggest surprise to me)
But literally everything he did for this album felt like After Hours Extended Edition and I was surprised that this is dropping as a stand-alone album because I really thought he was just putting out random songs to ride the After Hours wave
But hey… after hours was great and maybe this one will also be great I’m not gonna focus too much on freshness of this record

He’s considering the album to be a sister album to After Hours, so it being thematically similar to After Hours isn’t really that crazy. Even looking at the album covers you can see they’re supposed to be side by side, feel me?
I’m not mad at anyone who’s tired of the sound though, I get it 100%. I’m also hoping he moves a different direction for the next album, but with that being said everything we’ve heard so far actually sounds like a major step up from After Hours musically so I’m hoping that this s*** is gonna be as good as the snippets sounds and he goes 3/3 with his latest projects.
Pink Pantheress But For Niggas Coming Soon
Dirty Bird got the jungle mixes on lock rn
There's only like 3 songs on AH that you could consider 80's sounding though..
They hear synths and immediately it’s an 80s album
I had some dude tell me Alone Again was an 80s song I was perplexed
We shall see with the seed he plants in the soil of our ears. Tonight.
He hasn't even released the new stuff yet how can you say that
Did you not see the trailer or hear Take My Breath….

Okay if that’s the case than I digg it
I only was against it because it seemed like he’s not acknowledging it but turns out I simply wasn’t following him close enough
If the concept is that it’s a separate album but it some way a continuation of After Hours then that’s dope
80s nostalgia is the easiest thing to do
it always works lol
but it's VERY hard to do without seeming corny or like a gimmick
the weeknd doing it well so far
Nigga gon disappear for a min then come back with a album full of House , Drum & Bass , and Techno
