might be a dumb question but i was jus thinking like did he have any inclination that all of this would happen. figure someone here is knowledgeable on the history of the case maybe.
Yeah he did. During the breakfast club interview he had a couple of quotes alluding to it
Punk as a whole has this feeling of reflection/knowing it’s all over
He had to have known something was on the horizon

Idk the exact time stamps but he was like “I’m dealing with some s*** that just won’t go away” or something along those lines

Yeah I feel that. It’s like he’s letting out a bunch of stories he’s held onto for a long time because he knew he wouldn’t be able to tell them again for a while

That is the exact vibe i got from the album
Especially the guitar on the intro track. Feels so harrowing.

yeah he knew
he probably got word that they were closing in way before it hit the media bc the streets talk
I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew people from his past were going fed on him
He never explicitly said it but retroactively Punk felt like a possible last hurrah as if he was aware something could happen to him or he was expecting that album to be his last real "studio" album for the time being. Business Is Business feels like an odd spiritual successor to it but I really think whatever comeback album he drops after he beats the case could wrap the trilogy up on the highest note of his career. I'm looking forward to what he's been cooking up in the cell over the phone with his main collaborators on the low. Day in and day out brainstorming and refining his craft. This could rival the Slime Season trilogy when it's all said and done

i think his verse on parade on cleveland was recorded in jail
I don't like none of the verses on this s*** but it's hard

gunna verse still crazy on this
really wish thug never went to jail, YSL was turning into the biggest force in rap in 2021-2022

I was never a Gunna fan
I always think if Thug as a generational talent but he's always been more of an instrument than rapper to me. I can name like only 4 songs I like for the vibe and lyrics
Also thought all of YSL was hot garbage
his verse on here is so sad in retrospect
The way him and baby do the hook together was beautiful
