No too many tryhards
this and anxiety and not knowing how to do the drills
i went to the practices but never the try outs cause the practices would shatter my esteem enough couldn’t imagine actually trying out
i probably could’ve made it soph year bc parent knew the coach but i talked myself up out of it
Yeah I did, was the fastest JV on my swim team but was dropped because I got a F in french
How tf do you get an F in French, did you even show up
we don't really have teams but we had competitions between school houses. never tried out for our basketball comp but I did great at floorball all 3 years in high school and decent in ping pong

I didn't understand french and my teacher was speaking in constant french instead of english as if I understood anything

Ah so you just had a s*** teacher. Hope this didn’t turn you off from the language there are great programs out if you ever wanna learn
Volleyball and baseball
I never tried out for basketball but I think I could’ve made it if I dropped something. At the time I liked playing volleyball more cus I couldn’t really play anywhere else. Basketball I could play any time I wanted. I was too nice at baseball to give that up.
Yea then couldn’t play cause of absences and dropped out
Why all the absences? And how are things going now?
I would hope athletes would go hard always tbh
Obvs but I'm talking bout the braggadocios ones

Ahhh yes the “fake hustle” types
At least most coaches can see through that s***
My biggest regret is not trying out. I was self conscious about my offensive game but my defense (in all sports) is lockdown. I woulda made it off that alone.
I played every other sport too so I wonder what the mental hurdle keeping me from hooping was

Damn should’ve done it man
Coaches love a solid defender.

Yea facts Idk what I was thinking. Probably just thought I was too small. I didn’t grow really til college. I was 5’9-11 in HS.
6’2 now
you f***ed up just starting to go in your senior year tbh
ya i was too scared to do it the first 3 years, only really went because my friend convinced me. when he didnt see me on the 2nd day of tryouts i said i had a dentist appointment
I wanted nothing to do with my first HS and my second one I was too busy to be invested but I did want to play Basketball

same with not knowing the drills. like we started the drills and everybody knows whats goin on like with the pathing and passes. during the drill, i passed at the wrong time and everybody got mad as s*** like i was ruining their chances on making it

same with one of my spanish teachers. if i have 0 knowledge of spanish and the teacher only speaks in spanish, how tf am i gonna learn in the first place.
