Horror is one of the most beloved genres of film and showcases some of the most inhumane, despicable things you could think of but people understand and recognize that it is not reality.
More people need to understand that music is not reality either. Most of these lyrics these rappers are spitting are not autobiographical, they’re trying to entertain the listener.
There’s a separate conversation to be had about the real life image that rappers feel they have to uphold, but that isn’t connected to what they say or don’t say in songs, because music is not real life. It’s art, it’s entertainment, whatever you wanna call it, it’s not reality.
