While this is unbecoming and personally nasty TO ME (cause just from a human POV it is kind of wicked to show me all this love, then years later say I grape'd you and get 10Ms out of me, that's nasty), humans are simply complex creatures.

The problem that the defense will consistently run into is that grape and assault victims are still humans and humans are complex creatures capable of compartmentalizing to extradorinaiy extents. I can still love the person that grape'd me. I can still have empathy for the person who assaulted me.
It happens ALL the time. So unless you can somehow taint her to the point where she isn't believable you're cooked. Pointing out that she still showed / shows love for her abuser is very much typical behavior.
But maybe the jury still has an archaic view of how abuse victims are 'supposed to' respond
