at least give us your favourite one, your number 1 Soderbergh

I haven't logged a single film of his on LB I feel like I must have watched some since I made my account but they just never leave an impression so I probably don't log them. Honestly don't have a favorite they're all just "good".

  • Jul 24, 2022

Soderbergh f***s so much, Oceans trilogy literally perfect films

  • Jul 24, 2022

His filmog is actually so good

    And Kimi was great

just watched Kimi, so i can finally do my ranking :)

    1. Sex, Lies, and Videotape
    2. Ocean's Eleven
    3. Unsane
    4. Kimi
    5. The Limey
    6. Erin Brockovich

Been too long since i've seen Ocean's 12 and 13, Out of Sight and the Girlfriend experience, so i won't rank them. Erin Brockovich is last, but still pretty good.

So i take it you dug Kimi a lot then

    Elric

Makes good entertaining films but I don't have any strong opinions about any of them

IIRC there was an old thread about ranking his filmog, but as far as OP's series of threads we haven't yet. Sounds like a safe pick for the next one tbh

Probably is definitely my least favorite Tark. Haven't seen Soderberghs since it came out.

You know when you see a movie on a plane and it's in a weird compromised form? Like no cuts or anything, but the sound and visual quality put you at a distance?

As much as I enjoy some of Soderbergh's movies, his work all feels kind of like that to me, it's like he never really strives for greatness, he just loves making movies and treats everything as a kind of technique experiment

yea had a lot of fun watching it. What i found interesting is how he managed to make a movie in today's times, surrounded by technology and the digital world, that still plays like a classical thriller from like late 80s to 90s. Especially the score remindend me of those films
