The original ransom letter was believed to be legit based on information in the letter describing placement of certain objects in her house the night it happened

I know that’s pretty vague but they didn’t release much more than that

Tbh I'm surprised that they haven't purposely leaked the ransom email / IP address / crypto wallet info yet because internet nerds are better at solving cases than the FBI at this point

Also I could see a random civilian paying the ransom on behalf of the Guthrie family too

There’s no way it’s a scam…Harvey said they left a real email and name probably didn’t think this would be considered extortion tho

I don’t think they’re doing it like this for an extra $16K….probably just so the moneys a guarantee

They said $50K for info that leads to the arrest

No guarantee they can arrest the kidnapper

The notion of there being supposedly her blood on the scene rly concerns me. A woman of her age leaking is pretty detrimental

No clue honestly. I would’ve thought it was a crime of opportunity, seeing as how she’s an 80 year old woman living alone.

My Dad is on blood-thinners and he can lose a ton of blood just from a small cut

I read that the blood at the front door shows no "splatter" too so the blood dripped from a very low height so people are speculating that she was dragged out

Her age makes her as an easy target to rob but the fact that his backpack was completely full when he got there says that he wasn't there to steal but to take her which is so strange

The fact that this essentially confirms a kidnapping without a proper plan makes it so perplexing

Yea seems like they were monitoring his movements since he was at the Guthrie residence recently and noticed he started driving towards the Mexican border the moment the camera footage of the suspect was released and they just assumed he was fleeing when he was actually delivering doordash orders

Now seems like they have zero credible leads and are desperately waiting for someone in the public to come forward and snitch just like the Luigi Mangione and Charlie Kirk cases
