if there's already a thread on this yall can lock this, but how does an artist who sold 500k first week have tickets selling for $60 in NY of all places? s*** they're going for $8 in charlotte.

i'm not a big travis fan anymore and haven't kept up with him for a few years so i can't be sure, but i can only really think of three reasons right now:
-i'll start with the least likely explanation, and that would be something fishy going on with the reported sales. i was really surprised when i found out that this album did 500k first week in the first place.
-travis's fan base is just young now and parents won't let their kids go after what happened at the astroworld festival. i can only speak from anecdotal evidence but i'm 23 and my friends haven't been big fans of his since we were like sophomores in college.
-travis's fan base isn't that young but fans are just scared to go to his shows now because of the astroworld s***.

feel like there's more of a concrete answer out there, which is why i made this thread, but this little demand for tickets just doesn't correlate with 500k first week.

    Because resellers that is why.

Actually a damn good question OP

I think it’s the Astroworld incident & the fact that the album didn’t have a huge smash like Sicko Mode

And after the initial hype of Utopia wore off, ppl weren’t spinning the album as much & thus didn’t see the point in shelling out money to see him

    No hate

  • 1. cop as many resale tickets as you can find
    2. cop bulk flour tortillas & rice from costco
    2. go to chipotle & show the patrons travis streaming metrics
    3. flip 1x ticket for 1x chipotle bowls
4.repackage the bowls as burritos & pad them with rice. thats 2x burritos for every bowl.
    5. set up a burrito stand outside the concerts to sell cactus ranch wraps
    6. count profit

Cus everyone saw tickets were expensive for s*** seats even before resellers and was like “I’m good”. Nobody is trying to spend that kind of bread on these big ass arena shows just to have nosebleeds unless you’re Bey. If they were priced reasonably to begin with it wouldn’t be a problem. They’re only so low now cus of resellers getting gutted. I promise you nobody gives a s*** about Astroworld incident
