this is happening as DJ Hed has alluded to multiple times. according to him, they shot EVERYTHING starting with rehearsals for the pop out. might even have studio footage of kendrick recording the tracks, discussing strategy, then the pop out, then the making of GNX, superbowl rehearsal footage and the making of this tour. it’s too good of an opportunity to not tell the story this way.

he kept speaking about the month august multiple times on the bigger picture, and knowing that the feature film that was supposed to drop next month is delayed coming out next year, this summer would be a perfect time to release a documentary of some sorts.
